Director (Merrily We Roll Along) & Season Scenic Designer

Nick Oberstein (Director, Merrily… & Season Scenic Designer) is grateful to once again be making summer theatre magic at WDW (this time under the stars!), having previously acted on stage in several shows as a participant. Nick has served as Scenic Designer for over thirty past productions with WDW, as well as Director of summer 51’s Two Gentlemen of Verona: the musical. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, with Boston-area acting credits that include: Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George and A Little Night Music with the Huntington Theatre Co., four productions with New Repertory Theatre, eight with Greater Boston Stage Co., The Nora Theatre Co., Wheelock Family Theatre, the Boston cast of Sheer Madness, and the title role in Bat Boy: the musical (IRNE nomination, Best Actor). Nick is also a theatre educator and director, having previously worked with Greater Boston Stage Co.’s young company, where his directing credits include: Titanic, Zanna, Don’t!, and Jane Eyre: the musical. Nick is also part of the team at My College Audition, serving as a Monologue and Acting for the Song coach — MCA specializes in private coaching for students from around the globe applying to audition-based college theatre programs (mycollegeaudition.com). He is a graduate of Framingham High School and a former member of their State Championship-winning Drama Company. Nick holds a BFA in Acting from Emerson College, where he received the Performing Arts Departmental award for Excellence. He lives with his husband Andrew in Boston.
