Lerner and Loewe's musical reenactment of the Arthurian legend is both spirited and touching. Shortly after King Arthur (Bill Barclay) meets his bride-to-be, Guenevere (Dana Sullivan), the two originally uncertain monarchs find themselves falling in love. When Merlin (Nat Sylva), Arthur's advisor, is lured away by the nymph Nimue (Krissie Nagy), Arthur must rule the country on his own, and he formulates the revolutionary idea of the Round Table. News of this venture reaches France, and when Lancelot du Lac (Jared Sylva) learns of it, he travels to     England to join the knights already gathered there. Slowly, Lancelot and Guenevere become attracted to one another, although they try their best to hide their love from Arthur. Arthur, however, is fully aware of their affections and attempts to conceal his anger and sorrow from his wife and his best friend.

The low point for Arthur, though, is the arrival of his illegitimate son, Mordred (Nat Sylva). Mordred strives to gain the kingdom for himself and convinces his aunt, the enchantress Morgan Le Fay (Christine Barclay), to imprison Arthur for one night in her magical forest. During that time, Mordred catches Guenevere finally admitting her love to Lancelot and accuses the Queen of treason. When Guenevere is sentenced to burn at the stake, Arthur is forced to make a decision: must the woman he loves die, or must he break the code of ethics he has worked so hard to construct in order to save her life? This show depicts a legend made more human than ever before through its  appealing characters and its captivating score.
